Back Cover: What if your deadliest
enemy was the only one who could save you? In an ancient temple in the
mountains, fifteen-year-old Zira trains in the martial arts to become a warrior
priestess, defending the faith of the Ruan people. Then terror strikes at
everything Zira loves, and the only home she knows is destroyed by the
occupying forces of tyrannical King Abheron. To survive, she must unravel the
secrets of her identity, decide her people’s fate – and accept her growing
feelings for a man who should be her enemy.
Set in a magical land of Ruan and Sedorne, this story is a
great fantasy. Zira has no idea who she is as she has been raised as an orphan.
On the eve of her sixteenth birthday she discovers who she really is. And to
have those she loves she turns to a lord whom owes her a favor. With the help
of her friends Deo, Rashna, and Mira she finds what she is truly capable of.
This is one of those great fantasy stories that shows a people coming together
to fight for something better. Zira is so uncertain at first but with every
step she becomes stronger and more sure of herself. I liked it very much and
look forward to reading the next book FrostFire.
