My Soul to Keep by Rachel Vincent

Genre: Young Adult
Sub Genre: Paranormal Romance; Banshees or Bean Sidhe, Soul Screamers
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: When Kaylee Cavanaugh screams, someone dies and Kaylee is about to scream her head off… Kaylee has one addiction: her very hot, very popular boyfriend, Nash. A banshee like Kaylee, Nash understands her like no one else. Nothing can come between them. Until something does. Demon’s breath. No, not the toothpaste-challenged kind. The Netherworld kind. The kind that really can kill you. Somehow, the super-addictive substance has made its way to the human world. But how? Kaylee and Nash have to cut off the source and protect their friends—one of whom is already hooked. And so is someone else…

This is the third book in the Soul Screamers series. Kaylee is finally not grounded anymore and is just starting to enjoy some freedom. But there is something going on at school and they soon learn that kids are taking Demon’s breath. Now they need to find out where it is coming from. But that is just the start. The story is filled with a lot of teen drama. That being said it is brilliantly written. The characters have grown a bit since the last book and you can’t help but love where this story is going. I absolutely can’t get enough of this series and I can’t wait to read the next book, My Soul to Steal.

My Soul to Save by Rachel Vincent

Genre: Young Adult
Sub Genre: Paranormal Romance; Banshees or Bean Sidhe, Soul Screamers
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: When Kaylee Cavanaugh screams, someone dies. So when teen pop star Eden croaks onstage and Kaylee doesn’t wail, she knows something is dead wrong. She can’t cry for someone who has no soul. The last thing Kaylee needs right now is to be skipping school, breaking her dad’s ironclad curfew and putting her too-hot-to-be-real boyfriend’s loyalty to the test. But starry-eyed teens are trading their souls: a flickering lifetime of fame and fortune in exchange for eternity in the Netherworld – a consequence they can’t possibly understand. Kaylee can’t let that happen, even if trying to save their souls means putting her own at risk…

This is the second book in the Soul Screamers series. It starts off soon after the last book had ended. Kaylee, Nash, and Tod are at a music concert. Everything is going great that is until the star Eden dies onstage. And to Kaylee’s surprise she doesn’t wail. Well then things get complicated and we learn that there is soul trading going on. To save the a few souls Kaylee puts her own at risk but she wouldn’t be Kaylee otherwise. I truly love how this story is written. I don’t agree with some the choices Kaylee makes but at the same time I think it made for some great story telling. I personally loved this book and look forward to seeing where the series will go in the next book, My Soul to Keep.

My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent

Genre: Young Adult
Sub Genre: Paranormal Romance; Banshees or Bean Sidhe, Soul Screamers
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: Something is wrong with Kaylee Cavanaugh. She doesn’t see dead people, but… She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally. Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream then she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who’ll be next…Soul Screamers. The last thing you hear before you die.

I happened upon this at the bookstore the other day and the cover caught my attention. And once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. A whole new take on the banshees, well bean sidhe here. And I loved that there where both male and females. Kaylee is so unsuspecting at the beginning, but she blossoms under Nash’s tutelage. As she learns more about herself and what she is capable of she becomes a stronger person. And Nash is one of those characters that you can’t help but love He is the one who saves Kaylee from her own fears. It’s a great story that I think you will enjoy again and again. And I can’t wait to read the second book, My Soul to Save.

Rogue by Rachel Vincent

Genre: Paranormal Romance; Werecats
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: Okay, so cats don't always land on their feet. I know that better than most. Since rejoining the Pride, I've made big decisions and even bigger mistakes: the kind paid for with innocent lives. As the first and only female enforcer, I have plenty to prove to my father, the Pride, and myself. And with murdered toms turning up in our territory, I'm working harder than ever, though I always find the energy for a little after-hours recreation with Marc, my partner both on and off duty. But not all my mistakes are behind me. We're beginning to suspect that the dead are connected with a rash of missing human women and that they can all be laid at my feet--two or four, take your pick. And one horrible indiscretion may yet cost me more than I can bear...

This is the second book in the Werecats series. Faythe is at home trying to do what her family wants of her. But then bodies start to pile up and they are all connected. Also Marc seems to want a promise of something more in the future. While everything is going on it all seems too much. The way the characters discover what is going on makes for very dynamic story telling. I found it a great read and couldn’t get enough of it. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, Pride.

Stray by Rachel Vincent

Genre: Paranormal Romance; Werecats
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: I look like an all-American grad student. But I am a werecat, a shape-shifter, and I live in two worlds. Despite reservations from my family and my Pride, I escaped the pressure to continue my species and carved out a normal life for myself. Until the night a Stray attacked. I'd been warned about Strays -- werecats without a Pride, constantly on the lookout for someone like me: attractive, female, and fertile. I fought him off, but then learned two of my fellow tabbies had disappeared. This brush with danger was all my Pride needed to summon me back . . . for my own protection. Yeah, right. But I'm no meek kitty. I'll take on whatever -- and whoever -- I have to in order to find my friends. Watch out, Strays -- 'cause I got claws, and I'm not afraid to use them . . .

Faythe is another kick-butt kind of girl. All she has ever wanted is her independence and to be able to live her own life. But some strays have other plans for her. This is the first book in the Shifter series. And it starts off with a bang and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed were the story is going. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, Rogue.
