Genre: Paranormal Romance; Shifters, Vampires, Fey, Magic, Mages, Monere
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy

Back Cover: On the make. On the scent. On the edge. On the Prowl…Alpha and Omega by Patricia Briggs. The werewolf Anna finds a new sense of self when the son of the werewolf king comes to town to quell unrest in the Chicago pack – and inspires a power in Anna that she’’s never felt better. Inhuman by Eileen Wilks. Kai has a secret gift of sensing thoughts and desires. When she senses in her neighbor Nathan could be dangerous. Because he has a secret gift, too, and it’s about to be let loose. Buying Trouble by Karen Chance. In a New York auction house, a Lord of the Fey crosses paths with a fiery redheaded mage named Claire. But in this strange underground society, the rarity up for sale is Claire herself. Mona Lisa Betwining by Sunny. Among the children of the moon, Mona Lisa is of Mixed Blood – part Monere, part human, and destined to be alone. Then she meets a man who could be her salvation – or her downfall…

This is an anthology that mixes four great authors. Now I have written on two of the stories in here, the story by Patricia Briggs and the by Sunny. I felt I should also touch on the other two stories here in as they are also very good reads. Eileen Wilks is about people finding out secrets about one another. While the Karen Chance story is about buying rarities. The whole book is a gem. I have read the whole book several times as I really like it. This is a short story that is very nice in describing what is happening with Mona Lisa as she is beginning to see that she is changed.

Wicked Enchantment by Anya Bast

Genre: Paranormal Romance; Fae, Magic, Incubus, Mages, Goblins, Wild Hunt, Necromancer, Phaendir
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: When you’re half-incubus, your reputation precedes you… All eyes are on Gabriel Mac Braire the day he makes his first appearance in Seelie Court, including those of Aislinn Finvarra. Despite deep bitterness over her last failed relationship, Aislinn cannot help but be curious about the half incubus who is known to possess dark magick, both lethal and sexual in nature. Rumors abound of the women who have become enslaved to his irresistible charms. So when the Summer Queen of the fae orders Aislinn herself to act as his guide in the court, she is understandably on guard. She’s fallen under the spell of far less persuasive men before. In addition, Gabriel might be more than he seems, and his true mission is far from innocent. This time, Aislinn must protect not only her heart, but her very life…

This time Anya Bast takes us into a new world of her Fae. In this book the fae are on a reservation that the Phaendir and the humans created hundreds of years ago. They live as best they can but still wish to have their freedoms back. There are two courts that of the Rose and that of the Black. The Rose court is very big on status and bloodlines. Gabriel is much more than he seems and keeps Aislinn on her toes. Aislinn is just beginning to discover herself and what she is capable of. The two are great together are great. I love how there are so many layers to this story. Anya can create these worlds that pull you in and make them truly believable. I love this story and can’t wait to read the next one in this series, Cruel Enchantment

Embrace the Night by Karen Chance

Genre: Urban Fantasy; Vampires, Clairvoyants, Mages, Fey, Magic
Sub Genre: Paranormal Romance
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Embrace the Night

Back Cover: Recently named the world’s chief clairvoyant, Cassandra Palmer still has a thorn in her side. As long as Cassie and a certain master vampire – the sizzling-hot Mircea – are magically bound to each other, her life will never be her own. The spell that binds them can be broken only with an incantation found in the Codex Merlini, an ancient grimoire. The Codex’s location has been lost in the present day, so Cassie will have to seek it out in the only place it can still be found – the past. But Cassie soon realizes the Codex is missing for a reason. The book is rumored to contain some seriously dangerous spells, and while retrieving it may help Cassie deal with Mecea, it could also endanger the world…

This is the third book in the Cassie Palmer novels. In this book Cassie has to go all over time to try and separate the magical bound between her and Mircea. So much is going on and trying to remember the “when” that they were at did through me once. (Time travel can do that sometimes). The story is well written and as always the hot scenes just seem to get a little hotter. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a very good page turner that I just couldn’t put down. I can't wait to read the next book in this series, Curse the Dawn.

Claimed by Shadow by Shadow by Karen Chance

Genre: Urban Fantasy; Vampires, Clairvoyants, Mages, Fey, Magic
Sub Genre: Paranormal Romance
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: A recent legacy made Cassandra Palmer heir to the title of Pythia, the world’s chief clairvoyant. It’s a position that usually comes with years of training, but Cassie’s circumstances are a little…unusual. And now she’s stuck with a whopping amount of power that every vamp, Fey, and mage in town wants to either monopolize or eradicate – and that she herself doesn’t dare use. What’s more, she’s just discovered that a certain arrogant master vampire has put a geis on her – a magical claim that warns off any would-be attraction between them. But Cassie’s had it with being jerked around, and anyone who tries it from now on is going to find out that she makes a very bad enemy…

Cassie is now having to fight for herself. Not wanting to belong to anyone but herself. Again this sit on the edge of your seats as there is so much going on. You want to take it all in. Even though she does have something for Mircea she still doesn’t like the idea of being owned. Great writing that I just could not get enough of. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, Embrace the Night.

The Mad, Bad Duke by Jennifer Ashley

Genre: Historical Romance; 1800’s, Nvengaria
Sub Genre: Paranormal Romance; Magic, Demons, Mages
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: Meagan Tavistock can easily see how Alexander earned the nickname Mad, Bad Duke. His deep blue eyes promise sinful pleasure and his rich voice intimates that as soon as they are skin to skin, he’ll fulfill desires she isn’t even aware of. When a love spell misses its intended target, Meagan can no longer resist the temptation...until the magic wears off, leaving the pair in a most compromising position. Their only option is a marriage that thrusts Meagan into a new world of high danger, dark secrets, and a passion so intense she can’t help wondering: Is it the lingering power of the spell or true love at last?

This is the second book in the Nvengaria series. It is the Meagan and Alexander’s story. Meagan goes with a friend to pick up a love spell for her friend so she can have an affair. But the spell instead brings Meagan and Alexander together. But there is more magic in play. Not including the intrigue and danger. I think I liked this book even more than the first book. There is so much going on but it flows so well together. Meagan is a great character who is strong and knows what she wants. Alexander has a few control issues as well as a secret of his own. This is one of those books that I couldn’t put down. I can’t wait to read the next book, Highlander Ever After.

Touch the Dark by Karen Chance

Genre: Urban Fantasy; Vampires, Clairvoyants, Mages, Fey, Magic
Sub Genre: Paranormal Romance
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: Cassandra Palmer can see the future and communicate with spirits – talents that make her attractive to the dead and the undead. The ghosts of the dead aren’t usually dangerous; they just like to talk…a lot. The undead are another matter. Like any sensible girl, Cassie tries to avoid vampires. But when the bloodsucking magioso she escaped three years ago finds Cassie again with vengeance on his mind, she’s forced to turn to the vampire Senate for protection. The undead senators won’t help her for nothing, and Cassie finds herself working with one of their most powerful members, a dangerously seductive master vampire – and the price he demands may be more than Cassie is willing to pay…

Cassie may be running from one vampire into the arms of another but this is not your usual vampire story. Cassie needs help but she also has some moves of her own. Beautifully written characters for this story, truth be told I don’t have just one favorite. I really love almost every character. This is a book had me on the edge of my seat trying to find out what was going to happen next. And it didn’t disappoint at all. I really think this is a brilliant way to start a series and can't wait to read Claimed By Shadow.

Penelope & Prince Charming by Jennifer Ashley

Genre: Historical Romance; 1800’s, Nvengaria
Sub Genre: Paranormal Romance; Magic, Demons, Mages
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: The playboy prince. His blue eyes beguiled. His muscular form could have satisfied any fantasy. He had a delicious foreign accent—and to top it off, he was royalty! What woman would dare refuse the most sought-after lover in Europe? Miss Twice-a-Jilt Penelope Trask, that’s who. And, unfortunately for Damien, marrying Penelope was only way to inherit his kingdom. Good thing this enchantingly infuriating woman didn’t seem completely immune to his many charms. The passionate way she returned his kisses told Damien he wasn’t the only one head over heels. But wooing was difficult amid assassination attempts, wild magic, and desire so strong it threatened to overwhelm him every time they touched. Why had no one mentioned the road to happily-ever-after was so difficult?

This is the first book in the Nvengaria series. Penelope has had to jilt two men in the past after finding out what they really wanted out of marriage. Damien is trying to fulfill a prophecy and help to save his kingdom. What the two aren’t prepared for is falling in love. The story is a great weaving of both historical storytelling and an added paranormal magical twist. The world is well built. The characters you can’t help but to fall in love with. Even the when you think that you know where the story was going it changed. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series, The Mad, Bad Duke.

Blood Song by Cat Adams

Genre: Urban Fantasy; Psychics, Vampires, Mages, Werewolves, Magic, Clairvoyants, Sirens, Blood Singer
Sub Genre: Paranormal
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: Bodyguard Celia Graves has definitely accepted her share of weird assignments, both human and supernatural. But her newest job takes the cake. Guarding a Prince from terrorists and religious fundamentalists is hard enough, but it seems like the entire supernatural world is after this guy too. When she is betrayed by those she is employed to help, and everything goes horribly wrong, Celia wakes to find herself transformed. Neither human nor vampire, Celia has become an Abomination—something that should not exist—and now both human and supernatural alike want her dead. With the help of a few loyal friends—a sexy mage, a powerful werewolf, and a psychic cop—Celia does her best to stay alive. On the run from her enemies, Celia must try to discover who is behind her transformation…before it’s too late.

The first book in the Blood Singer series. Celia is attacked while on the job only to wake up as neither human or vampire. And now everyone is out to kill her including her sire. She must figure out why this happened. He has help from a mage, werewolf and a psychic. The story itself is filled with plot twists just to keep you guessing. The characters are well developed which makes for a richer story. I loved reading this book and can’t wait to read the next book in the series, Siren Song.
