Ward message boards and the answers to questions about the series posed by readers. You’ll learn what it’s like for J. R. For the first time ever, you’ll see an original novella about Zsadist and Bella, and witness the miracle of their daughter Nalla’s birth and experience the depth of their love for each other. Also, you’ll receive a sneak peek at the much-anticipated next book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Lover Avenged, Rehvenge’s story. This is a compendium no Black Dagger Brotherhood fan should miss…and an insider’s guide that will seduce you as powerfully as the sexy band of Brothers and the “ferociously popular” world in which they live.

This book is the Guide to the series from book one through book six. There isn’t a whole lot I can say about this as it’s just something that you have to read. The short story in it is so cute. And all the extra information on all the Brothers was great. With all the extras that are added from all the Brothers it is a must read. I especially loved the interaction between the characters and the writer. I couldn’t get enough of book and found it to give more depth to characters that I already loved.

Lover Avenged by J. R. Ward

Genre: Paranormal Romance; Vampires, Soulless Humans
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: Caldwell, New York, has long been the battle ground for the vampires and their enemies, the Lessening Society. It’s also where Rehvenge has stacked out his turf as a drug lord and owner of a notorious nightclub that caters to the rich and heavily armed. His shadowy reputation is exactly why he’s approached to kill Wrath, the Blind King and leader of the Brotherhood. Rehvenge has always kept his distance from the Brotherhood, even though his sister is married to a member. Because he’s a symphath, his identity is a deadly secret – the revelation of which could result in his banishment to a colony for sociopaths. As plots within and outside the Brotherhood take their toll on Rehvenge, he turns to the only source of light in his darkening world – Ethlena, a vampire untouched by the corruption that has its hold on him – and the only thing standing between him and eternal destruction.

This is the seventh book in the series of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. This is Rehvenge and Ethlena story. You get to see more behind the scenes with what Rehvenge does. And I’m not just talking about the drug dealing or his council work. While you have Ethlena who is a nurse and someone that everyone truly likes. But that’s not all that the story is about. We get to see more to Wrath and Beth. As well as John and his boys. I  love that this story just builds from one book to another making a more compelling story. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, Lover Mine.

Lover Enshrined by J. R. Ward

Genre: Paranormal Romance; Vampires, Soulless Humans
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: In this “frighteningly addictive” paranormal romance saga, there’s a war raging between vampires and their slayers. Here are the stories of a secret band of brothers like no other – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. And now a dutiful twin must choose between two lives… Fiercely loyal to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood’s bloodlines alive. As Primal of the Chosen, he is obligated to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive, and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished. As his first mate, the Chosen Cormia wants to win not only his body but his heart for herself. She is drawn to the noble responsibility behind the emotionally scarred male. But Phury has never allowed himself to know pleasure or joy. As the war with the Lessening Society grows grim, tragedy looms over the Brotherhood’s mansion, and Phury must decide between duty and love…

In the sixth book we get to watch Phury and Cormia’s relationship. We also learn some more about the lessening society. That one of the vampires is actually the son of the Omega. As well as learn more about the boys John, Qhuinn, and Blay. I love watching them as they come into their own. The story shows us another side to Phury and it isn’t a pretty site. But it also helps to build on this great series. There were some great unexpected twists that where brilliantly written. I loved this book and can’t wait to read the next one in the series, Lover Avenged.

Lover Unbound by J. R. Ward

Genre: Paranormal Romance; Vampires, Soulless Humans
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: In Caldwell, New York, war rages between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Now the cold heart of a cunning predator will be warmed against its will… Ruthless and brilliant, Vishous, son of the Bloodletter, possesses a destructive curse and a frightening ability to see the future. As a pretrans growing up in his father’s war camp, he has no interest in love or emotion, only the battle with the Lessening Society. But when a mortal injury puts him in the care of a human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb compels him to reveal his inner pain and taste true pleasure for the first time – until a destiny he didn’t choose takes him into a future that cannot include her…

The fifth book in the Black Dagger Series is about Vishous who is the one character of all the brothers that I truly feel sorry for. Not only was his childhood bad but his current life has been much better. This story he seems to get one bad thing after another. His own mother tries to make him a breading stud at one point. He just can’t seem to catch a break. Then he meets Dr. Jane Whitcomb and things start to look up. I won’t go into any more because I’ll be telling too much. All I will say is that I did cry while reading this story. It’s very good but it is a little sad. I still can’t get enough of these books though and can’t wait to read the next one, Lover Enshrined.

Lover Revealed by J. R. Ward

Genre: Paranormal Romance; Vampires, Soulless Humans
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a war raging between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. But now an ally of the Brotherhood is about to encounter his own dark desires… Butch O’Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard-living ex-homicide cop, he’s the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world – to engage in the turf war with the lesser. He’s got nothing to lose. His heart belongs to a female vampire, an aristocratic beauty who’s way out of his league. If he can’t have Marissa, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers… Fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, he’s found by a miracle, and the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back. But even her love may not be enough to save him…

In forth book I was so happy that Butch gets to become one of the Brotherhood. But even better then that was the relationship between Marissa and Butch. This is one of those stories that you are trying to keep up with the characters and at the end of everything your breathless. This book adds some great depth to the story line of the series. I really like the new abilities that Butch now possesses. I enjoyed reading this one quite a bit and can't wait to read the next book, Lover Unbound.

Lover Awakened by J. R. Ward

Genre: Paranormal Romance; Vampires, Soulless Humans
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, a deadly turf war rages between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Of these, Zsadist is the most terrifying member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion and terror his only passion – until he rescues a beautiful female from the evil Lessening Society. Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for each other begins to overtake them, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Bella’s tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now Bella must help her lover overcome the wonds of his tortured past and find a future with her…

In the third installment of the Black Dagger Series we meet Zsadist who is a very scarred soul, for what was done to him he’d rather attack others so that he doesn’t get hurt by them. But when Bella is taken he can’t help but find her and kill who ever has taken her. Bella seems to have always had a thing for Zsadist no matter how much he pushes her away. Even going as far as insisting that she should be with his twin. When he finally decides to except that he is worthy of her he does right by her. I felt did cry for Tohr. I just hope he comes back. Bella and Zsadist are great characters that you just fall in love with. I really did enjoy this quite a lot. And I can't wait to read the next book in the series, Lover Revealed.

Lover Eternal by J. R. Ward

Genre: Paranormal Romance; Vampires, Soulless Humans
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly turf war raging between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Possessed by a deadly beast, Rhage is the most dangerous of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetites. He’s the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover – for inside him burns a ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin. Owned by this dark side, Rhage fears the times when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him. Mary Luce, a survivor of many hardships, is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world and reliant on Rhage’s protection. With a life-threatening curse of her own, Mary is not looking for love. She lost her faith in miracles years ago. But when Rhage’s intense animal attraction turns into something more emotional, he knows that he must make Mary his alone. And while their enemies close in, Mary fights desperately to gain life eternal with the one she loves…

In book two we get Rhage’s story and he is one of the scarier brothers. When her first meets Mary he can’t help but want to be close to her. He even makes her friend set them up on a date so that he can be with her in a more intimate setting. While Mary isn’t sure why this gorgeous man is so interested because she doesn’t feel that she is worthy of someone like him. Due to the fact that she has been sick and can no longer have children. I love that Rhage is willing to give up everything including Mary so that she can live a full life. And even taking on his curse for all eternity. I feel that of the brothers that I have read about so far Rhage is the most noble. I really cried when Rhage made his request of the Scribe Virgin. I thought that she was not being fair to him or to Mary. But I love how this turned out. The writing is brilliant. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series, Lover Awakened.

Dark Lover by J. R. Ward

Genre: Paranormal Romance; Vampires, Soulless Humans
Sub Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Back Cover: In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing their enemies more than Wrath, the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood… The only purebred vampire left on the planet, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But when one of his most trusted fighters is killed – orphaning a half-breed daughter unaware of her heritage or her fate – Wrath must usher the beautiful female into the world of the undead…Racked by a restlessness in her body that wasn’t there before, Beth Randall is helpless against the dangerously sexy man who comes to her at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of brotherhood and blood frighten her. But his touch ignites a dawning hunger that threatens to consume them both…

This is the first book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. A friend of mine introduced me to this series, and I thank her every time I see her. Wrath is your reluctant hero, who not only is to lead the Brotherhood but also his people. How the story changes from character to character is very fluid. I love Beth and Wrath together, even though I did feel bad for Butch. How both him and Beth had to give up the lives that they knew. But I think that it was a good thing all in all. I just fell in love with this story. A new take on the vampire legends that is inspiring. I can't wait to read the next book in this series, Lover Eternal.
