Back Cover: There’s something
achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce
Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at Sword &
Cross boarding school in Savannah. He’s the one bright spot in a place where
cell phones are forbidden, the other students are screwups, and security
cameras watch every move. Except Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce – he goes
out of his way to make that very clear. But she can’t let it go. Drawn to him
like a moth to a flame, Luce has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to
keep secret… even if it kills her.
Luce has been sent to reform school and she doesn’t want
anyone to know what has happened in her past. As she begins to make friends she
can’t help but be captivated by Daniel. Even though Cam is doing everything in
his power to get her attention as well. This is one of those stories that keeps
you on the edge of your seat making you hold your breath as you are waiting to
see what is going to happen next. I really liked the character development as
well as how well they all interact with one another. I absolutely enjoyed
reading this book and can’t wait to read the next one, Torment.
