Back Cover: Her parents are dead.
She can’t remember what happened. And now she’s in love with the most dangerous
creature in the forest. The only thing Avery Hood can remember about the night
her parents died is that she saw silver – deadly silver, moving inhumanly fast.
As much as she wants to remember who killed them, she can’t, and nothing left
to do but to try to piece her life back together. Then Avery meets the new boy
in school – Ben, mysterious and beautiful, with whom she feels a connection
like nothing she’s ever experienced. Ben is a werewolf, but Avery trusts him –
at first. Then she sees that sometimes his eyes flash an inhuman silver. And
she learns that she’s not the only one who can’t remember the night her parents
died.
This is a very different kind of werewolf story as it is
more about Avery’s connection to the forest. Avery witnessed her parents murder
but can’t remember a thing about it. Now she is just trying to get things to
create some kind of life. When she meets Ben she thinks that he is one of the
most beautiful boys she has ever seen. Soon they are just drawn towards one
another. But as Avery starts to remember things about what happened. The story
is one of takes off running. Avery is a great character that you fall in love
with right from the beginning. Ben is so sweet. I loved this book and hope that
there will be more to this world.
