This is the first book in Royal Brotherhood trilogy. Alec
approaches his unknowing half brothers so that he can find a rich bride and
save his estate. While Katherine is looking to marry her childhood friend as
she would like to marry someone who is a friend rather than someone that she
may have a passion that will die down. Katherine doesn’t know what to make of
Alec as his reputation is one that makes him out to be a rake. I know that I
have said it before that I don’t usually read historical romances. I picked
this up having read a story by Sabrina Jeffries in Fantasy and really enjoying
it. I wanted to read something else by her. I really think I choose well in my
book. I found the characters well formed and compelling. I really liked that
there was a lot more to Alec’s character. That he had this whole background
about why he is the person he is. Katherine for all her prim and proper ways
has a bit of a wild side to her as well. I truly enjoyed reading this book of
their courtship. I actually plan on reading the next book in the trilogy, To
Pleasure a Prince.
